Privacy and Security

Another important ethical consideration in AI and NLP is privacy and security. With the vast amount of personal data being collected and processed by these systems, there is a risk of unauthorized access, misuse or abuse of this information. For example, chatbots that collect user data for personalized recommendations must ensure that this data is securely stored and not shared without explicit consent from the user. Moreover, natural language processing technologies that can infer sensitive information from text (such as mental health status or political views) must be designed with privacy protections in mind. To address these concerns, experts are exploring various approaches such as secure multi-party computation, homomorphic encryption, and differential privacy.
