They have successfully developed an AI writing detector that identifies 97 percent of ChatGPT and GPT3 authored writing with a very low less than 1/100 false positive rate. So it is possible that Turnitin can detect AI written content.

However I'm not sure if they can detect a well prompted gpt-4 texts; even if they could do today, I'm not sure about the future. Because ai is developing very fast.
